St. Thomas College, Thavalappara, Konni, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala State, is an Unaided/
Self-financing Arts and Science College owned and managed by the Diocese of Thumpamon, Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Basil Aramana, Pathanamthittta , and affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.
His Grace Kuriakose Mar Clemis Metropolitan is the President/Manager of the College.
The College is siuated at St. Thomas Mount, Thavalappara, a serene and scenic hillock approx
5 kms from Konni Town. The very atmosphere of its locale is conducive to the process of
teaching and learning. This institution of Higher Education adds one more notable landmark
to Konni which is fast developing as a notable educational centre with several schools, Aided
And Unaided Colleges, a Government Medical College and several other prestigious institutions.
The College got administrative sanction/NOC from the Government of Kerala in the month of
August 2012. Mahatma Gandhi University granted affiliation to the College on 24 August 2012
vide its UO No: 4156/1/12/Ac A VII.
The College is named after St. Thomas, the Disciple of Jesus Christ, and the Apostle of India.
The Vision and Mission of the College is to grow into a Centre of Excellence in the area in the
field of Higher Education.
The logo of the College aptly incorporates the motto ‘Wisdom-Love-Service’. We believe that
real wisdom is given by God Almighty. It is based on and leads to real love towards our
fellow beings which in turn leads us to the service of the society in general. The ‘Cross’
standing on rock indicates St. Thomas Mount where the College is located, the ‘laurels’ stand
for victory and achievement, and the ‘lamp’ stands for enlightenment of the mind, and the
Convocation Cap indicates academic excellence. We earnestly hope that the Faculty and Students of the College will always rise to the occasion and hold the banner of the institution high by building up a noble tradition of discipline and a vey high standard of excellence.
